줄거리 : 여대생 장미는 규식이란 애인과 결별하고 어려서 기지촌에서 살았던 기억과 완고한 아버지 슬하에서 애정결핍으로 신음한다. 부산으로 내려가다가 그녀는 일시적으로 중년남자에게 애정을 느끼나 그에게 처자가 있고 나이차 때문에 돌아선다. 사랑의 정착을 하지 못하던 장미는 호스테스가 되는데 어느날 규식의 힐책을 받고 수면제를 과다복용한다. 이에 정신병원에 입원하게 되고 그곳에서 세호라는 청년과 사랑을 한다. 장미는 그가 원하는 여자가 되어 결혼을 기다리나 호스테스였다는 과거때문에 꿈은 무산되고 만다.

SYNOPSIS : A college girl Jang-mi parts with her lover Kyu-sik and suffers from lack of love due to her unfortunate childhood with a stubborn father. She feels affection toward a mid-aged man in a train on her way to Busan but does not pursue him for he is married. She wanders about to end up as a call girl and overdoses on sleeping pills, driven by Kyu-sik's criticism. She is put into a mental hospital and falls in love with Se-ho. She looks forward to being married to him but her dream is shattered by her past.
