7 Korean Words & Phrases That Sound Very Similar To English

Hi guys!
Did you know that there are some Korean words that sound similar to English?

In this video, I will introduce 7 Korean words and phrases that not only have same meanings but also have same pronunciations with English ones.
I’ve found out these words while I’ve been studying English, and I thought it would be also very good way for you to study Korean language.

Well, of course Korean and English are different languages. So those words and phrases that I’m going to introduce to you might not sound exactly same.

But I’m sure it will help you memorize their meanings and also study Korean in a more fun and easy way.

Also I made this video for fun so please do not be so serious and enjoy this video! :)

1. Sorrow= 서러움 [seoreoum]
- 서럽다 [seoreopda] = To be sad, To be sorrowful
- 서럽게 [seoreopge] = Sorrowfully
* 여행가서 너무 아팠는데 심지어 혼자여서 정말 서러웠어요.
= I was so sad because I was very sick when I went on a trip and I was even alone.



2. Many = 많이 [mani]
* 한국에는 산이 많이 있어요.
= There are many mountains in Korea.

* 저는 요즘 책을 많이 읽어요.
= I read many books these days.



3. Barley = 보리 [bori]
* 농부가 넓은 들판에서 보리를 심고 있어요.
= A farmer is planting barley in his large field.



4. Bottom = 바닥 [badak]
* 내 성적은 이번에도 반에서 바닥이다.
= My grade is at the bottom of the class again this time.

* 이 컵은 바닥에 금이 갔어요.
= There is a crack in the bottom of this cup.



5. Thunder = 천둥 [cheondung]
* 밤새 천둥이 쳤어요.
= It thundered through the night.



6. I get that = 알겠다 [algetda]

7. What’s up? = 왔어? [watseo]
