Algeria Advances to Round of 16 For First Time [Algeria vs Russia Recap]

Algeria needed just a tie or a win to secure their first ever knockout stage entry, and there dreams came true as the game ended 1-1. Emotions were high as the Algerian fans were desperate to see their team go through to the last 16, and as the whistle blew there were tears and relief for all of Algeria as they took the second spot.

The Turk goes to Algeria, making the last 16 is a huge achievement and they have waited a long time to make an impact at this stage. Well done.

The Jerk goes to Russia's attack in the last 10 mins. They tried to play the ball around side to side for most of the second half, and got nowhere, nada, zilch. So why when qualification is on the line do they remain true to this game plan. Perhaps this rides with Capello,who looked to accept defeat. Poor effort from them at the end, I expected more.
