Bastian Schweinsteiger was an integral part of Germany’s 2014 World Cup win and took that momentum with him into signing with Manchester United. At the time, Schweinsteiger was about to be 29 years old and still had some good legs left in him, but the system just didn’t fit and he was mostly lost amongst the tactics. Bastian Schweinsteiger opted to sign with the Chicago Fire, which is a good move for the Germany captain given he will be one of the best in the MLS, however, signing near retiring players might not be helping the MLS in the long run.
