Every country and every culture has different wedding/marriage customs. However, no matter what country or culture you grew up in, getting married is probably one of the most important events in one's life. In Korea, for most people and families, getting married is considered to be an important event, not just for the two individuals directly invovled, but also for the two families. People in Korea often say that it's not just two people who become one when they marry, but it's two familes that become one big family.
