We are at the Plaza Hotel in Seoul on Oct. 19 to find out more about Korea’s unique culinary culture – jongga food.
Jongga is a traditional Korean family system that dates back some 400 years to the Joseon era. Each jongga has its unique food culture and specialty dishes with recipes handed down through generations.
The jongbu, or the wife of the eldest male descendent of the jongga, is responsible for keeping alive her household’s traditional recipes that use locally sourced ingredients.
At the event today, organized by the Rural Development Administration (RDA), we will get to taste a variety of dishes from 12 different jongga families, prepared to perfection by their respective jongbu wives.
