Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder have pushed the Spurs to the brink of elimination in the NBA Playoffs, where they currently hold a 3-2 series lead going into Game 6 on Thursday. Considering the Thunder are one win away from the Western Conference Finals, it also would extend Durant’s time with his team. If they were to be eliminated, Game 6 would potentially be KD’s last home game at OKC. More importantly, it would make sense from a financial perspective, for Durant to sign a one year deal with an opt out clause in year two, given the amount of money he would make. If Durant were to stay one more season, and sign a max contract at the end of the 2016/17 season, he would see close to a $100 million difference in total salary.
