Hong Kong is a prosperous city, but the issue of the homeless persists. Figures from the Social Welfare Department reveal a rise in their numbers, yet few pay attention to the women among them. According to research conducted by service agencies, women become homeless for many different reasons. Apart from finance, substance abuse, or other health problems, higher emotional dependence is also a key cause.

Yet, support for homeless women is insufficient because most of the services for the homeless are catered to men. There are few accommodations for women, and mental healthcare is less than enough. What can we do? How can the society support homeless women?
