While baseball has fallen off the captivating elements of American sports over the past few years, new rule changes brought on by new commissioner Rob Manfred look to improve the length of games. Last season, most MLB games ran close to or over three hours long. Three new rules have been implemented to shorten the length of the average MLB game and they include:
1) Batters keeping one foot in the batters box
2) Play resumes immediately after the broadcast returns from commercial break
3) Managers must call replays from the dugout
