Today Mommy Oh shows us how to make Mandu (Korean dumplings) from scratch. Yes, we even make the wrappers! We learn four main recipes: Pork Mandu, Vegetarian Mandu, Shrimp Mandu and an accompanying sauce. We steam dozens of mandu, then pan-fry another batch. Then I get experimental and create a filling with ingredients in the kitchen. I make Chili & Cheese Dumplings and for dessert... Cinnamon Chocolate Dumplings!
You can also add drained and chopped kimchi to your savory dumplings. The first few recipes we share require fewer ingredients so that most of our viewers around the world have access to. For those who can get pre-made wrappers, by all means, use those.
Mommy Oh tends to make gentle-tasting dumplings, so you can add more flavor by adding additional salt and sesame oil. I recommend eating them with sauce. Btw at 20:50, I meant to write 1.5 tablespoon of soy sauce. Forgot the "1" before the "1/2." But maybe you prefer 1/2 tablespoon :)
WRITTEN RECIPES: Coming by Friday PST so you can make dumplings over the weekend ???? Thanks for your patience!
