I might have overreacted because she might have just simply stated the fact that the foundation made her skin look lighter without any meaning behind it. But when she came to tell me that, she looked too excited that I couldn't just take her statement as a simple observation. (even though she is usually always very excited ;;; ) She seemed very excited about having lighter skin, but I didn't want her to think that having light skin looks better. I always remind her that her skin is beautiful, and I would do anything to make her feel that her skin color is perfect the way it is. My reaction might have been a bit harsh to her because I said it looked ugly, and I think she took it like her face looked ugly, which I didn’t mean that way. I just wanted to make sure with the harsh reaction that I was really serious and I want her to know that having lighter skin does not make someone prettier and that people are pretty in their natural skin color.
