Today we're digging into Pyongyang Naengmyeon, cold buckwheat noodles in broth! It originates from the capital of North Korea and has been a very trendy dish in South Korea for the past year. Naengmyeon's popularity rose even more when President Moon Jae-In and Kim Jong-Un met during the Inter-Korean Summit. They had Pyongyang Naengmyeon for their dinner together and on the same day, cold noodle shops in Seoul were packed and queued up.
Mommy Oh and I had naengmyeon many times before, but it's our first time trying it at Woo Lae Oak. We order the traditional Pyongyang noodles and for our second bowl we change it up with Bibim noodles (mixed with sweet and spicy sauce). How do they taste? Is it worth the nearly one hour wait? Watch the video for the full food adventure :)
