A taekwondo performance was held in May to mark President Park Geun-hye' state visits to Ethiopia, Uganda and Kenya. The popularity of the indigenous Korean martial art was so intense that each show, in each capital, was jam-packed with taekwondo fans and practitioners who were eager to see the performance in person. One group of young taekwondo athletes also took to the stage to demonstrate the taekwondo moves that they polished specifically for this special show.
Their taekwondo moves, if not perfect, were particularly cute and endearing, garnering applause and cheers from the audience. Take a look at this video clip and you'll see just how popular taekwondo is across East Africa.
