We all try to be carbon conscious — but can we actually reverse climate change by evolving how we eat and drink?

At the Asian Art Museum, we believe food, like art, is a great way to share culture, express values, nurture positive change, and help new communities take root.

On THURSDAY, AUGUST 4, FROM 6-9 PM Anthony Myint and Karen Leibowitz — the award-winning founders of beloved local eatery Mission Chinese Food and new hotspot The Perennial — TAKEOVER the Asian Art Museum for an evening of conversation, ideation, and recreation.

Along with a round-up of fellow food pioneers — from producers and suppliers to chefs and advocates — Myint and Leibowitz will host interactive stations, including an installation from IDEO designed in collaboration with IDEO Food Studio to present their elegant and earthy remedies to ecological predicaments.

Collaborators include:
· IDEO Design for Food
· Imperfect Produce
· 18 Reasons
· Soil Solutions
· Singing Frogs Farm

BONUS: Debut screenings of 5 short films from acclaimed local illustrator Jon Adams animate the story behind the Perennial and outline its practical philosophy to progressive eating.

TAKEOVER is a new series highlighting the work of diverse Bay Area visionaries who are making important contributions to our broader culture. These game-changers take over the museum for a one-night-only event, sharing their ideas and influences in a setting like no other.
