We are at Kyunghee University in Seoul, where the World Korean Language Speech Contest for Foreigners is taking place on May 15.
Today also happens to be the birthday of King Sejong the Great, the creator of Hangeul, who was born 621 years ago.
This afternoon, 16 contestants from 12 countries will compete in the final round of the competition giving their speeches in Korean.
The two themes for this year are: Korea’s status in the world and Korea’s hidden charms.
