For the Artist Drawing Club series, Nick Dong explored the patterns and the ways in which they come together to form culture and create a visual language to transmit ideas. Reflecting on the exhibition "Emperors’ Treasures: Chinese Art from the National Palace Museum, Taipei," Dong created an immersive, interactive installation of a “circular sky” and a “square earth," invoking ancient Chinese iconography of heaven and earth. Through this cosmological pattern, Dong recognizes the rich and wondrous culture in the exhibition and its place in the modern world. For more information:
