The all-new Mustang GTD made a grand debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, showcasing a new Performance pack designed to complete a lap of the Nürburgring in under 7 minutes. This pack includes magnesium wheels, active aerodynamics, and a new front fascia with dive planes. The Mustang GTD’s driver-focused interior features 3D-printed titanium paddle shifters, Recaro seats, and a thick-rimmed flat-bottom steering wheel with additional driver controls. The digital gauge cluster theme and unique graphics in the reconfigurable center display, powered by Sync 4, enhance the driving experience, making the Mustang GTD a high-performance, premium sports car.
The Mustang GTD’s Performance package is key to its agility and speed. It includes dive planes, a larger splitter, underbody flaps, and a drag reduction system on the rear wing, all contributing to reduced drag and improved aerodynamic grip. The Lightweight package, part of the Performance pack, removes sound-deadening material and adds 20-inch magnesium wheels. The Mustang GTD’s carbon-fiber elements and eye-catching Chroma Flame paint further highlight its sophisticated construction and design. This combination of features makes the Mustang GTD excel in every aspect, from cornering and grip to braking and acceleration, as it aims for a sub-seven-minute lap at the Nürburgring.
Inside, the Mustang GTD’s driver-focused features continue to impress. The Recaro seats and a new steering wheel with premium Dinamica inserts, leather wrap, and carbon-fiber elements ensure comfort and control. Exclusive buttons for adjusting suspension firmness and exhaust mode allow drivers to maintain focus while customizing their driving experience. The GTD interior, unveiled at Le Mans, includes a hero panel with new buttons for accessing Track Apps and activating a front-axle lift function. The standard eight-speed dual-clutch transaxle, paired with 3D-printed titanium paddle shifters, enhances control over the supercharged 5.2-liter V8’s 800-plus-horsepower, embodying the Mustang GTD's motorsport-driven performance and sophistication.
