Alexander Gustafsson vs. Anthony Johnson UFC on FOX 14

Alexander Gustafsson disappointed his hometown crowd of 30,000 strong as Anthony “Rumble” Johnson went home the victor after a quick first round stoppage. The stoppage came with 2:15 left on the call of referee Marc Godard who intervened after a concussive blow to Gustafsson's neck. Anthony Johnson will go on to face Jon Jones for the Light Heavyweight title, one that Gustafsson truly wanted considering his strong effort at UFC 165 in September of 2013.
“The fight took a drastic shift after a brief stoppage from referee Goddard, who noticed Johnson signal his eye had been swiped by Gustafsson’s outstretched fingers. Upon the restart, Johnson landed a hard right hand that dropped the Swede to his knees. Gustafsson tried to vain to escape, but more heavy shots from Johnson sent him tumbling to the canvas. Goddard gave Gustafsson multiple warnings to improve his position as Johnson punched away.”
