Barcelona defeated Arsenal 2-0 in the Champions League Round of 16 on Tuesday after Lionel Messi scored two goals, one on a devastating counter attack and the second on a penalty kick. Arsenal and Barcelona entered the half tied 0-0 and it looked like the Gunners would have a chance to pull off an upset, until a poorly timed Mertesacker tackle resulted in Neymar and Messi to run in the open field, eventually leading up to an easy finish for the duo. Arsenal has an uphill battle if they want to advance, as the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16 moves back to Barcelona on Tuesday, March 16.
