BMW XM (2023) Exhaust Sound & Launch Control

The BMW XM features the M HYBRID drive system which combines a V8 combustion engine with a high-output electric drive system to generate a total power output of 480 kW/653 hp. The V8 engine is a newly developed, high-revving unit with M TwinPower Turbo technology and features an optimized oil separation process and cross-bank exhaust manifold. The electric motor is integrated into the eight-speed M Steptronic transmission and provides instant power when accelerating. The M HYBRID drive system produces a maximum torque of 800 Nm/590 lb-ft, with the electric motor contributing up to 280 Nm/206 lb-ft. A pre-gearing stage also increases the effective maximum torque of the electric motor to 450 Nm/332 lb-ft at the transmission input.
