Derrick Rose vented during his postgame interview after a 108-94 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers Monday night. The former MVP has been returning to peak form, but his frustration lies in the teams communication, specifically on defense. Head Coach Thom Thibodeau is known for his defensive gameplan, and the slumping Bulls were a Top 10 defensive team in 2014. The new year has not treated the Chicago Bulls as nicely: Joakim Noah has been out for four games due to an ankle injury, starter Mike Dunleavy is still recovering from a foot injury and the team dropped six of their last eight games.
“Everybody has to be on the same page. Until then, we’re going to continue to get our ass kicked,” Derrick Rose said. “We’re not communicating while we’re on the floor to one another. Everybody is quiet. Trust plays a part, but communicating on defense in a team sport is huge. We’ve got to give a better effort. It seems like we’re not even competing. It’s (bleeping) irritating.”
