ESPN Fired Over 100 Hosts Today

ESPN announced not too long ago that they would have to lay off expiring contracts and fire some on-air talent, but until today the speculated number was around 40 people. The end total is over 100 on-air talent and some producers, the gutting of some veteran hosts, like Ed Werder, came as a surprise to the industry given his 17 year status with ESPN. The firing are directly related to the overhead of investing in the NBA and NFL, while ESPN executives will claim it’s cord cutters fault. Nobody deserves to be fired like this, so we wish the best to the on air talent and their next gigs.
