Floyd Mayweather sat down with Fight Hype and discussed the current state of boxing. While listing off many of the elite talents in the sport, he did mention that he believes racism still exists in boxing. He cited Ronda Rousey for receiving movie deals and sponsorship over Laila Ali, who was equally dominant in her sport and for a longer period of time. Mayweather also referenced Conor McGregor, citing the hypocrisy for praising the UFC star for his trash-talk and rants, compared to himself, who was criticized for doing the same.
Partial quote: "They got Andre Ward number 4, and this guy that's ranked number 9, we don't even know who he is. I truly believe that racism still exists in the sport of boxing.”
