Liverpool hosted Chelsea in the first leg of the Capital One Cup and came away with a honorable draw after Raheem Sterling struck in a magnificent goal to level the playing field. Eden Hazard preceded the scoring when he nailed in a penalty goal after Gerrard was carded for obstructing Hazard in the box. Many claim it should not have been a penalty, while others took the stance that any contact in the box is going to be penalized. Gerrard almost sent Anfield into madness after a strike hit the post, but Liverpool came away with a healthy draw as they attempt to make a run at the only piece of hardware they can realistically achieve this season.
