FOX News Chicago - around the most advanced Command Truck in the world which was planned, developed and built for the MDA. The National Command and Control Vehicle is built on the frame of a truck and fitted out in the UK with equipped and is now one of the most advanced technology system vehicles in Israel. The vehicle will serve to save lives in Israel in situations of a national disaster during which the communications systems will break down.

16 meters long, 4 meters wide, weighing 32 tons, with a generator attached and a petrol tank with over 900 liters of fuel -- these are just some of the things characterizing the Command vehicle which is the most advanced in the world, and the only one of its kind which was built specially for the MDA teams. Amongst other things, the advanced truck is equipped with cameras which are carried at a height of about 19 meters, and can see over a larger area. Fully equipped MDA Dispatch centres have been set up inside the Command Truck and will be able to give a response to calls in the different disaster areas, as has a meeting and board room equipped with the most advanced technology and more. Above all the Command Truck will enable the MDA teams in the field to use the communications systems, the cellular and internet systems, even in situations when the communications systems break down, as happens in incidents of large disasters. Thus, the MDA teams will be able to continue to function almost without any disturbance and in the most efficient manner in order to save lives.

The special truck was built in England, on the skeleton of a DAF lorry which was acquired in Holland. In England, the professional and experienced team built onto the truck a range of technology and computer systems -- which turned the truck into a mobile Dispatch centre, which enables a response to any situation. The special truck is now being studied by rescue organizations all over the world, with the purpose of reproducing its success and building trucks of this kind in additional places.
