Suim asks Beomjin why he refused to admit the defendant's witnesses. He replies he only did what was to be done. Seoktae learns that Suim asked Beomjin about the case. He tells Beomjin Hyeonu should cut all ties to the Gong family. Hyeonu is surprised to learn that it was Seoktae that Kim Yunsik insisted was behind all the crimes. He's also shocked to learn his father was the presiding judge. Jeongja runs into Miok on her way out from Sejun's house.
