Mick Fanning, three time world championship surfer, had by far his toughest competition in the water. The pro surfer battled off a shark attack by punching the shark in the back. The very real and very scary moment could have been disastrous as the shark approached Fanning, but boats were on the scene asap to rescue what could have been a fatal day of surfing. Fanning claims to have punched the shark in the back and felt something grasp his leg after catching a glimpse of a fin out of the corner of his eye. Crisis averted. Humans are friends, not food!
