Natalia Mikhailovna Vodianova, nicknamed Supernova, is a Russian model, philanthropist and occasional film actress. She is well known for her rags to riches life story and for her eight-season, seven-figure contract with Calvin Klein.
It is an incredible honour for my country, Russia, to host the World Cup. The competition is an economic and cultural opportunity for the country and we look forward to welcoming people from around the world to Russia.
Of course investment and interest in the event is growing and this is absolutely fantastic for the country and for football most importantly and all of this provides great encouragement for Team Russia to continue its hard work.
I feel privileged to have been asked to co-host the Preliminary Draw for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Of course I am nervous as this is a great honour and I hope I will make my country proud in fulfilling my duties.
I have four children and two of them play football. One of my two sons, Lucas, is thirteen years old and for many years he has been passionate about football. Initially his father and I were focused on his schooling, but now we are letting him pursue his passion more, while still getting good grades in school of course! My youngest son crazy about football too and is a seven year old goalie with ambition.
I have played a little football myself too. Back in 2011 my charity, the Naked Heart Foundation, organised a special match. The teams were made up of parents who were raising children with special needs and the specialist medical staff who worked with them. Samuel Eto'o was part of my team and the match was very competitive, finishing in a draw, but I'm proud to say I scored a goal.
Football is one of the most accessible sports in the world, all you need to play is just a ball and some green space. It amazes me what kids can do with a ball and my hope is that football becomes even more inclusive so that more and more children have access to this wonderful sport and the wonderful opportunities it presents.
My favourite teams are pretty classical, Germany, Brazil and Spain but of course I will be supporting Russia like I always do. Actually the Russian team and I have shared some pretty intense moments. When I was giving birth to my son in London it just so happened that Russia were playing England at the same time. So the Russian team and I definitely have shared some interesting moments. Unfortunately they lost 3-0 to England on that occasion but who knows, maybe my son might be part of their future one day.
