New York City and Los Angeles, two of the biggest sports markets in the world, are bringing on 2 new teams to join Major League Soccer. Although the MLS is weak in comparison to that of the English Premier League or the Champions League, expanding new teams in major markets is one strong way to build a following around the sport. Both NYC and LA have MLS teams, so the addition of 2 more will add to the rivalry both within and outside the cities themselves. Los Angeles FC will be playing alongside the LA Galaxy at the Stub Hub Center and New York FC will be playing its games at Yankee Stadium.
