Real Madrid sacked manager Rafa Benitez just seven months after he took over for Carlo Ancelotti. Real Madrid drew Valencia 2-2 on Sunday night and the resulting point kept them in third place on La Liga table behind Atletico Madrid and FC Barcelona. Zinedine Zidane is the rumored replacement to take over for Benitez.
Manchester United finally redeemed some goals against Swansea City in the Premier League, one of which came on the foot of Wayne Rooney, who moved past Andrew Cole for second all time in the Premier League. The goal aided Manchester United in a 2-1 victory on Saturday and they now sit fifth on the table with 33 points.
