Rafael Nadal, down two sets to love, came back to force a fifth set against Luxembourg's Gilles Muller. The match ended after four hours and forty-seven minutes, with Muller defeating the Spaniard. Nadal has now lost three times to lefty's, two of those being Gilles Muller, who now faces Marin Cilic.
