Real Madrid AND Atletico Madrid Handed TRANSFER BANS

Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid were both handed transfer bans effective through January 31st, 2017, after both teams were linked to signing underage players. The transfer ban would take effect over the summer transfer window, leaving both clubs the option to sign players through the current January window. The same ban was handed to Barcelona a few years back, but they appealed, and won that decision. Sky Sports reports that because the ban was handed in January, opposed to Barca’s, which was dealt in April, they may not be as lenient to overturn their decision.
