The 2014 World Cup in Brazil has come with tension from the citizens of Brazil, and an overall angry country regarding the corruption that surrounds FIFA and its leader, Sepp Blatter. Although the 2014 World Cup has gone "smoothly" so far, the 2016 Olympic Games, which Rio is also hosting, is way behind schedule. In addition to the timetable that Rio is most likely not going to make, the Olympic Bay is over polluted and many homes have been destroyed to make room for the stadiums. Rio is host to some of the worst slums in the world and many families are being forced to move, let alone the amount of families that have already had their homes destroyed back in 2010.
