"Laettner has owed the Pippen family money for nearly a decade. Pippen claims in court documents that in 2007 he was approached by a third party about joining an investment group that was trying to buy the Memphis Grizzlies; the group included Laettner and his old Duke teammate Brian Davis. The sale never went through, Pippen sued and in 2010 a judge awarded Pippen a $2.5 million judgment, which, according to TMZ, has not been paid in full.”
