Steve Nash said what about retiring?!

Los Angeles Lakers point guard Steve Nash has hit the age of 40 and his NBA years are numbered. However, with one year remaining on his contract that will pay him $9.7M, Nash was quoted as saying "the reality is, I'm not going to retire because I want the money." Too honest for your liking or do you appreciate it?
