Away from the urban jungle of Hong Kong there are still a few rural villages that show our history and heritage. Local filmmaker, Jessey Tsang’s feature-length documentary, “Flowing Stories” tells the story of her native village Ho Chung in Sai Kung. Both functional and aesthetic, the ceramic art has interested and inspired artists for centuries, including Picasso who turned ceramics into his canvases. On show at the Hong Kong University Museum and Art Gallery, “Picasso Ceramics” includes more than 100 of his pieces from the Nina Miller Collection, one of the largest collections of his ceramic work in the world. Local charity organisation “Art for All” works at the interface of community art and social services. One of its recent projects uses creativity to help elderly people facing physical and mental challenges, including early dementia. Danish singer-songwriter, Jenny Rossander goes by her stage name, Lydmor. In English that name means “Mother of Sound” Usually, she creates her music electronically: complementing her voice with synthesiser, loop effects and electric drums. Today on the Works though, she is performing an acoustic set.
