The Works：Ten Million Rooms of Yearning; The Room and the Lovers; The Geneva Brass Quintet

Para/Site's "Ten Million Rooms of Yearning" opened in five different venues in may. Many of the events involved are now over, but the exhibition at Para/Site itself continues until 10th August, examining the connections between desire and the social and historical conditions of Hong Kong in which it must exist.

Also focusing on the subject of rooms and romance is "The Room and The Lovers", Korean choreographer Megan Ha Youngmi's first contemporary dance and movement theatre piece in Hong Kong. Megan has invited Italian music director Sascia Pellegrini to accompany the movement with live percussion and electronics. The show runs until the coming Saturday at the HK Fringe Club.

"The Flame", say its members, is more just than a band. It's a group of music lovers who first got together to bring music to the street in 2011. You'll usually find them in the streets around Times Square, but in recent months they have been getting rather broader exposure. One of them has even been seen all across mainland China.

The Geneva Brass Quintet was established in 2001. Its members all studied at the Geneva University of Music and graduated with a Master of Music. They are already well known in Switzerland, and this week they are in Hong Kong. They're in our studio today to talk about their music and about the week-long SliderAsia Trombone Festival that runs until the coming Sunday.
