When UNC and Duke meet during the regular season the two historic programs never disappoint. Duke came out with a strong victory over the sliding Tar Heels 92-90 after Jahlil Okafor powered his way into the paint and Tyus Jones continues to blossom into the NCAA’s best PG.
“Jahlil Okafor is the third player in the past 15 seasons with a double-double in his first game of the Duke-North Carolina rivalry. The previous two also were Duke players -- Jabari Parker last season and Luol Deng in 2004. Both of those players left after their freshman season. Parker was the second pick in the NBA draft, and Deng was drafted seventh.”
