Valcartier Vacation Village is announcing the construction of
a major recreation and tourism complex featuring an indoor waterpark and 4‐star hotel with 153 suites, the first of its kind in Quebec. This major tourism industry initiative, representing a private investment of $65 million, will complement the group’s entertainment offerings with year‐round accommodations
and annual activities that will be sure to please the entire family. The complex is scheduled to open in December 2016. “The idea behind building Valcartier Vacation Village’s recreation and tourism complex is to provide our vacationers, particularly families, with an optimal entertainment and accommodation experience. Our expertise in waterpark and winter playground management has allowed us to improve this experience:
our vacationers will now have the chance to visit a waterpark in any season. This type of attraction has never been seen before in Quebec” stated Guy Drouin, president and general manager of Valcartier Vacation Village.
A first in Quebec: an indoor waterpark covering over 102,000 square feetThe first of its kind, Valcartier Vacation Village’s future indoor waterpark will cover more than 102,000 square feet – almost two football fields – and will appeal to families, catering to both kids and adults. With its Polynesian theme, the indoor waterpark will have attractions created both for the little ones
and the more adventurous. Thrill‐seekers will be happy to ride exciting waterslides at the park, heated to 30⁰C year‐round. There will be something for everyone: a huge wave pool, over 14 waterslides (including five standing at 15.25 m (50 ft) tall), a family pool, a multi‐activity adventure river, and an attraction that is sure to be popular: a double surf wave. There will also be countless chairs, relaxation areas and private cabanas.
A 4‐star, comfortable family hotel
The five‐story, 194,000‐square‐foot Valcartier Vacation Village 4‐star hotel will be made up exclusively of suites, featuring a total of 153 (including some luxury suites with patios and private spas) on the three top floors. “We decided to offer suites in order to provide our visitors with optimal comfort. Families will be happy to learn that these suites were specially designed to meet their needs. They include a large living room attached to closed bedrooms and ergonomic bathrooms that can be used by more
than one guest at a time. We’ve covered all bases to provide our guests with an unforgettable experience!” added Drouin. Plus, there are five dorm rooms that can accommodate up to 12 people
each, available at a reasonable price for youth groups. The hotel’s mezzanine will be home to a huge indoor entertainment room with an arcade featuring multiple games and private rooms for children’s birthday parties and other group activities. On the first floor, there will be a spa with personal care facilities, including various baths, an indoor pool adjoining an outdoor pool, and a large gift shop featuring essentials and souvenirs. A lounge‐style sports bar and restaurant will round out this one of a kind space.
Valcartier Vacation Village aims to remain the ultimate year‐round destination for families looking for a fun and amazing getaway. Opened in 1963 with a $60‐million investment, Valcartier Vacation Village is one of the top economic drivers in Quebec’s tourism and recreation industry. In addition to its upstanding reputation in the tourism industry, the company is one of North Americans’
most valued tourism and recreation destinations. Valcartier Vacation Village is constantly evolving and continues to invest in order to offer cutting‐edge technology and innovation and improve the unique entertainment offering provided to its guests.
