Korea Tourism Organization's L.A. branch and the L.A. Dodgers co-hosted the "L.A. Dodgers Korea Day" in Los Angeles, California on July 28, 2013 to promote Korea and celebrate Ryu Hyun-jin and Choo Shin-soo, two Korean baseball players. The event also included as special guests three members of K-pop group Girls' Generation.
Ryu Hyun-jin of the L.A. Dodgers and Choo Shin-soo of the Cincinnati Reds met head-to-head for the first time in a Major League Baseball game at Dodger Stadium the same day.
