In conjunction with exhibition, "Gorgeous," at the Asian Art Museum (Jun 20 - Sept 14, 2014), staff of the Asian Art Museum, in partnership with 32K Productions and local travel writer Stuart Schuffman (Broke-Ass Stuart), traversed San Francisco over three days in March 2014. We challenged people to discuss extremes and ambiguities extending beyond conventional notions of beauty to be perceived as gorgeous.
The responses are divided into four video segments based on the following questions: What does gorgeous mean to you? What is something unexpected or surprising that you find gorgeous? What is something gorgeous that you love? What is something repulsive that you find gorgeous?
A special thanks to all the "gorgeous" interviewees. Produced by Lorraine Goodwin; cinematography and editing by 32K Productions: Chris Tipton-King, Sarah Altshuler, and Javier Briones; interviews by Stuart Schuffman and Lorraine Goodwin. © Asian Art Museum, 2014
