정진우는 SBS 'K팝스타5' 통해 선보인 자작곡 '위성'이 각 음원 차트 상위권에 진입하면서 데뷔 전부터 대중들에게 주목받기 시작했다. 2016년 PB R&B라는 장르를 기반으로 한 미니앨범 ‘in my room’을 발표하며 가요계에 정식 데뷔했고, 그해 흑인 음악 미디어 '리드머' 올해의 R&B 앨범 베스트 10에 선정돼 차세대 싱어송라이터로서 실력을 인정받았다. 독특한 가사와 매력적인 음색, 자유분방한 멜로디를 선보이는 정진우는 2018년 첫 정규 앨범 'ROTATE'의 전곡 작사 작곡을 맡아 소울, 펑크, 모던록, 재즈 등 다양한 사운드와 장르를 담아내며 자신만의 음악적 색깔을 완성시켰고 2019년에는 더블 싱글 'Ignorance'를 발표하며 정진우만의 허스키하고 호소력 짙은 음색과 독특한 화법으로 풀어낸 가사로 많은 리스너들에게 공감을 불러내며 한층 더 성장한 싱어송라이터로서의 면모를 보여주고 있다. 그리고 올해 하반기에 팬들에게 또 다른 정진우만의 색깔이 담긴 음악을 들려주기 위해 앨범 작업에 박차를 가하고 있다.

Jung Jin-Woo had been the focus of attention even before his official debut with the release of his self-written song ‘Satellite’ hitting the top of the charts after his appearance on the SBS show ‘K-Pop Star 5’. In 2016 he made his official debut by releasing his mini album ‘In My Room’, based on the PB R&B genre. In the same year the album was listed as one of RYTHMER’s 10 Best R&B albums of the year and thus began he was recognized as a next generation singer song-writer to watch. With distinctive lyrics, attractive tone, as well as freewheeling melodies, Jung Jin-Woo personally composed and wrote lyrics of all tracks on his first full length album ‘ROTATE’ which was released in 2018. The album embraces various genres such as soul, funk, modern rock, jazz, and more which, when combined, enabled him to complete his own color of music.
