Gabby Douglas Was NOT Being Disrespectful During the National Anthem

Gabby Douglas is a champion, which she has been in previous Olympics and continued the trend as Team USA women’s gymnastics took home gold yet again this week. The five women who competed for Team USA, which include the electrifying Simeone Biles and equally impressive veteran, Douglas, were honored for their efforts at a ceremony. The National Anthem for the United States was played, as is tradition during medal ceremonies, and “controversy” circulated the internet as Douglas did not place her hand over her heart. Some reacted in poor taste towards Douglas, who was not in any way being disrespectful, nor was she trying to be.
