Germany vs. Brazil Sets Record for MOST Tweeted Event in Sports History

Germany vs. Brazil was a blowout, one of the most lopsided games in World Cup history and resulted in a 7-1 final. To say Twitter exploded during the match is a drastic understatement. The match set the RECORD for most tweeted event in sports history surpassing the 2014 Super Bowl by 10 million tweets and after the games conclusion - 35.6 million tweets. After Germany scored their 3rd goal, tweets were being posted at a rate of over 500,000 per minute.
