Africa, a continent closely bonded with our country. President Xi stressed that ‚”China and Africa has always been a community with a shared future”.
China has been Africa’s largest trading partner for the past decade. Countries are intricately linked through cooperation and exchanges in terms of facilities connectivity and unhindered trade. Our country has made significant investments in Ethiopia and Ghana, with numerous companies establishing operations there and actively participating in the construction of numerous infrastructure facilities. Notable examples include Africa's first transnational electrified railway, the Addis Ababa-Djibouti Railway, and Ghana's second-largest hydropower station, the "Buwi Hydropower Station."
This episode also features interviews with two doctoral students from Ethiopia and Ghana, offering their unique perspectives. Through their insights, we gain a glimpse of how Hong Kong, as a functional platform for collaborative "Belt and Road" initiatives, with its multicultural society, outstanding universities, and supporting infrastructure, attracts students from "Belt and Road"-related countries to pursue their studies, engage in exchanges, and chase their dreams.
