The one and only aerobatic team of the Republic of Korea Air Force, Black Eagles!
They soar into the blue sky like heavenly artists. The display team was formed on the Armed Forces Day in 1953 with four F-51 Mustangs.
In 2009, the team reformed and transitioned to T-50B, the remodeled version of the first supersonic aircraft produced in Korea, which made its aerobatic movements even more sleek and diverse.
Black Eagles, the flight display team of the Republic of Korea Air Force, is regularly invited to the Seoul Air Show and many other military events, in which it represents the outstanding air power of Korea through its advanced maneuver skills in the air.
A Pilot of the Black Eagles must complete over 800 hours of flight, score the top 30% in flight training courses, be qualified to lead four aircrafts, and have unanimous consent from his team members.
It is because a teamwork is considered to be just as important as flying skills.
Black Eagles, where 11 pilots become one to create a splendid air show, also has a maintenance team and a PR team for a full support.

This document film shows the remarkable history of the highly skilled flight display team of the Republic of Korea Air Force.
