급식체 is a kind of Korean slang that some teenagers and people in their early twenties use in text message and/or on social media. It's called 급식체 because reportedly, it is mainly used by people who eat 급식 (school food) at their school cafeteria. The word 급식 is not used, however, to refer to food that college students eat at the college cafeteria. In this video lesson, you can learn about some common examples of 급식체 but just like with any temporary fad, we don't recommend that you actually use it.
