Lionel Messi Meets “Plastic Bag Boy” Murtaza Ahmadi

In one of the more heartwarming sports stories of the year, the young Afghan boy who was spotted wearing a plastic bag converted into a Lionel Messi Argentina shirt got to meet his idol at the most recent Barcelona match. Murtaza Ahmadi went from wearing a bag of his favorite player, to getting a signed Argentina shirt from Messi, to actually meeting him in person on the pitch. Luis Suarez was laughing after the boy refused to leave Messi’s side ahead of the match. Francis Maxwell and Jason Rubin break down how this story came full circle.
