Hyeonu searches for Deulim. He finds her by the Han River. He tells her to go home but she refuses, saying she can't bear to face her family. Jeongja learns Deulim was the daughter of the con man and is angry at Jeongnam. Jeongnam goes to the theater to see Deulim. Jeongnam shows Deulim her father's letter and insists that he was innocent. Suim looks up information on the case.
