The new Middleweight champion of the world, Michael Bisping, came into UFC 199 as a +400 underdog against the defending champion Luke Rockhold. Bisping, who took the fight on two weeks notice to replace Chris Weidman, was labeled as a fighter without punching power, but ironically, his punching power ended Rockhold in the first round to claim the belt. Bisping became the first Britsh UFC champion. The trash talking continued after the fight, where Bisping had even more expletives for Luke Rockhold.
